Cheesesteak Casserole

    Servings: 8

    Ingredients:

    • 1 TBS olive oil
    • 1 lb thinly sliced/shaved beef (or ground beef)
    • 1 medium onion diced
    • 1 green bell pepper diced
    • 1 red bell pepper diced
    • 8 oz mushrooms sliced
    • 1 TBS minced garlic
    • 1 tsp salt
    • ½ tsp black pepper
    • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    • ½ cup beef broth
    • 8 oz cream cheese softened
    • 8 slices provolone
    • 1 cup (4 oz) shredded mozzarella
    • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
    • ½ tsp dried parsley

    Directions:
    Preheat oven to 375°F.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the meat and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease if necessary. Add diced onion, bell peppers, and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook for 5–6 minutes until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute. Add salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Let the mixture simmer for 2–3 minutes so the flavors combine. Reduce heat to low and stir in the softened cream cheese. Mix until the cream cheese melts completely and coats the beef mixture.

Transfer the mixture to a lightly greased 9×13 casserole dish.

Align provolone slices over the top. Sprinkle evenly with mozzarella cheese, provolone cheese. Sprinkle with dried oregano and parsley. Bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
